Laguna Conservation:
Brand Identity

  • Task

Create a cohesive branding system for a non-profit organization located in Laguna Beach. The branding system must be youthful, clean, and playful to parallel Laguna Conservation’s positive and fun outlook.

  • Solution

Creating a logo that is inviting as to garner more volunteers, while maintaining a clean design to allude to Laguna Conservation’s movement towards keeping California’s beaches free from trash.

  • Applications

Cohesive branding identity including logo design, stationery set, signage, web design, and touch points such as; t-shirts, tote bags, and bottles to aid Laguna Conservation’s protective efforts.

An octopus was chosen for the logo because they are playful animals and very common off the coast of California. The octopus has been simplified to create a clean design and has been paired with a life preserver. The life preserver creates a youthful mood because it is being held by the octopus as if the octopus is playing with it. The life preserver also acts as the back of the octopus’s head. The life preserver represents Laguna Conservation’s efforts in keeping California’s beaches clean and their sea life safe.
